calm, fitter, healthier and more productive
So sideways didnt win anything from the oscars, and depp wasnt even remotely close to tipping jamie fox to a best actor nod. Still, there was alot more to cheer about. for starters at least the aviator didnt clean sweep everything. har har. : )
i guess its safe to say that even though the oscars are like the ultimate compliment u can pay to someone of the same field, since its been decided by people within the industry, i've always felt that the panel was this bunch of pussies who couldnt put up a decent fight with regards to anything. its almost fool-proof and transparent who's going home with the golden man, and who's gonna flash his big shiny and practised smile EVEN in the face of defeat. honestly the best way to silence people like me is to show us the all the behind the sences of bitching, cat-fighting just so as to convince us that decisions are being made in the best, most humanely possible manner.
regardless, movies are very much part of my life i guess, unfortunately, i was never gifted with such a talented and knowing eye or knack for taking something in a frame and transporting whatever that needed to be said across to other people. i dun think i could make an "eternal sunshine of the spotless mind", or "lost in translation", its just.... too massive.

Agreed on your point about such awards being all too predictable sometimes, but then again, movies like "lost in translation" are just overrated. Catch "Closer" if you want to enjoy something that's more..well, accurate. Cheers!
Dear all, Having watched closer after an ended relationship and being rewarded with a sleepless night of regrets and pain all i can say is that its a bit too fucking real.
well, i watched closer with the 2nd anonymous, and yesh he was indeed emotional and spasmic during the entire duration of the movie. but that just goes to shows how intense and crude it was.
hmm, but its films like "lost in translation" that makes filming-making such an exciting and varied process. its more of a mood thing i guess.
plus its got a glossiness that shines.
